Studio 9 Salon business model has been very successful. We are a model community business success story. A big part of our model is to support others who support us. We support many programs and fund raisers. Our business, our clients and our standing in the community allows us to be a conduit for many community oriented fund raisers.

Operation Good Cheer - This salon sponsored program is our major effort for the year. This year Studio 9 Salons clients and employees sponsored Christmas for 24 children who have become wards of the State of Michigan.  These children suffer from neglect, mental illness, domestic violence and many other issues. All have been removed from the parental home or abandoned.  Without this effort these children would have nothing to open on Christmas Day. This effort is in conjunction with Child and Family Services of Michigan. Verna's husband Mike, is one of the pilots who volunteers to fly the gifts around the state for distribution. This year Studio 9 Salon clients and employees purchased and wrapped 144 gifts going to 24 children residing in the State of Michigan. JVS of Michigan - Studio 9 Salon provides mentally and physically challenged adults the ability to receive occupational and social experience. This provides the disabled adult with self confidence and a real possibility of success when entering the job market. These JVS supervised real life lessons last a few weeks in duration and focus on working in the salon with cleaning and general duties. For additional information go to: http://www.jvsdet.org

Wigs for Kids / Locks of Love - Studio 9 Salon is a donor site for both of these wonderful organizations. Clients donate hair to be manufactured into wigs for children who have lost hair due to medical conditions or treatment.  Although we fully support hair donations to both organizations we recommend that clients give the donation to Wigs for Kids. Wigs for Kid’s is a Macomb County based operation and provides wigs free of charge to local children.  For additional information go to: http://wigs4kids.org

Boys and Girls Club – Every year Studio 9 Salon supports events or contributes to this wonderful origination.  
 
Going Green - Studio 9 Salon regularly sends waste hair clipping to this unique venture that turns hair clipping into bio degradable oil spill collection mats. These mats have been successfully used to clean beach and wildlife during oil spills. The mats can be reused many times. As the mat nears the end of its life cycle they are seeded with mushroom spores. As the mushrooms grow they consume the toxic materials left from the oil. The environmentally safe hair mats then decompose back into the earth as compost. Each year Studio 9 Salon provides gift cards for fund raising at the Oakland County American Red Cross Blood Drive and Community Fun Fair.

Sponsored High School Events / Fund raiser- Sterling High School, Stephenson, Mott High School – Studio 9 Salon provides support for these community schools in many ways including purchase of yearbook and other advertisement.  Studio 9 Salon also provides prizes and donations for special events and fund raisers.

Kiwanis Club - Studio 9 Salon participates in the annual Kiwanis Nut Drive supporting local projects. This sale runs during the Christmas Holidays each year. For the past five years Studio 9 Salon had sold 100’of cans of nuts with 100% of proceeds going to local Kiwanis Projects.

Girl Scout Cookie Drive - Each year Studio 9 Salon sets aside space to local Girl Scout troops to sell cookies in the salon. This annual event has become very successful and represents the sale of 100’s of boxes of cookies for the local troops.

Breast Cancer Walk – Every October Studio 9 Salon sponsors volunteers in the “Walk for the Cure.”
